England Manager Roy Hodgson has name Wayne Rooney as England captain against San Marino.
The armband has been handed to Rooney because regular skipper Steven Gerrard will be missing the game due to suspension, and obvious replacement Frank Lampard will be out of the home game at Wembley due to being unable to shake off a knee injury.
Manchester City keeper Joe Hart was also thought to be in the running, however the England international has backed Rooney saying that there is no one better for the job.
