The Football Association have confirmed that the Chelsea pair Frank Lampard and Ryan Bertrand will miss England's World Cup qualifier against Poland due to injuries.
The duo missed Friday's 5-0 victory over San Merino, and manager Roy Hodgson hoped that they would be fit for Tuesday's qualifying game against Poland. However, after the players turned up to Englands Watford training grounds on Sunday, a decision was made that neither were in a position in which they were able to play.
The pair now join winger Theo Walcott in the stands after the Arsenal forward picked up chest injury in a collision with San Merino goaly Aldo Simoncini.
