De Gea Denies Rumours Linking Him With A United Exit

Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea has rubbished rumours linking him with a move away from the club.

De Gea's future at United has been under much speculation recently with Spanish reports claiming that a move to Spanisg giants Real Madrid or Barcelona could be on the cards. The 22 year-old Spaniard has had his fair share of criticism these season regarding some poor performances, with some critics saying that he has been unable to adapt to Premier League football since arriving at Manchester United in the summer of 2011 from Athletico Madrid.

De Gea however has managed to silence critics after a man of the match performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday and has said that he is more than happy at United.

"I am very happy in Manchester. Every day I am happier," De Gea told reporters after the game.

De Gea pulled out an unusual save to stop Fabio Coentrao's effort by performing a scissor kick clearance off of his own line and admitted that the stop was instinctive.

"Stopping to Coentrao? That was just a very quick decision. I was acting on instinct," he said.

"It was a great match. Real Madrid and Manchester United did very well. [Madrid] have a very strong attack, so we needed to be strong in defence."

De Gea is expecting another busy encounter in the second leg with Real needing to score to cancel out United's away goal in the Bernabeu.
