Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has admitted that Liverpool striker Andy Carrol would be "a nice dimension" to his attacking force, however he says the deal is now purely down to the board.
It was a £35 million offer that made Carroll leave the club 18 months ago, however he has been unable to prove he has been worth the money at the Reds. Since the arrival of boss Brendon Rodgers to the club, speculation has appeared over whether the England international has a place in the new regime. With the the transfer window closing on Friday, Newcastle are reportedly planning a £17 million for the 23 year old.
