Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goals against Holland to ensure that Portugal have a place in the quarter final, but Holland head home without a single group win in the Euro 2012 Tournament.
Holland needed to win by two goals in order to be in with a chance of progressing, and their game couldn't have had a more reassuring start when Arjen Robben managed to find captain Rafael van der Vaart at the edge of the box who managed to send home a stunner for the Deutch. This was shortly followed by a testing shot from Gregory van der Wiel.
Hollands delight was deplemished just before the hour mark when full- back Joao Pereira managed to find Ronaldo with a superb through ball who then went on to slot the ball home in the tiny gap between the Dutch keeper and the post. The second goal came 16 minutes from time when a good ball from Joao Moutinho found Nani who's pass was picked up by Ronaldo before he managed to fire it into the back of the net, completely destroying all Dutch hope of progression.
