Mertesacker Out for "Long Term"

This just isn't Arsenal's week, especially now that their German centre-back Mertesacker is out "long term". He picked up the injury last weekend during the clubs 2-1 victory over Sunderland. He had to undergo surgery to reconstruct his ligaments, meaning that it will be even harder for the £8 million pound centre-back to show his worth.
