Earlier in the month Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger said he may consider extending club legend Thierry Henry loan from New York Red Bulls, however it is now confirmed that there will be no extension on his loan and Henry will be returning to New York on time.
Since starting his loan at the club at the beginning of the year, he has made 5 non-starting appearances and scored 2 goals. Wenger said "I would love for Henry to stay for two more weeks but he has to go back, it is only fair on New York".
This follows New York Red Bulls coach Hans Backe saying that he would expect Henry back by February 17th to start pre-season training ahead of March when the new season of the MLS starts.
