Swansea Beat Bradford To The Capital One Cup

Swansea dashed League Two side Bradford City's hopes at Wembley on Sunday with a record 5-0 victory which saw them lift the Capital One Cup.

A great performance from the Premier League side against this seasons surprise performers Bradford City saw both Nathan Dyer and Jonathan De Guzman net two a piece and prolific striker Michu score his 19th goal of the campaign which not only saw Michael Laudrup's side win their first major piece of silverware but also secure a place in the 2013/ 2014 Europa League.

Having already knocked out Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa en route to the final, Bradford's players arrived in the capital full of hope and cheered on by a partisan travelling support from West Yorkshire.

It did not take long however for Swansea's slick passing to produce the first goal with Nathan Dyer producing the finish in the 16th minute. After a pretty one-sided frst half, Swansea's second came in the 40th minute when Michu was allowed to spin and drill a shot through the legs of Bradford keeper Carl McHugh.

The second half was no let-up for the League two side as Nathan Dyer scored his second of the night just two minutes in. Bradford were obviously getting frustrated when their goalkeeper was sent off for a poor tackle and De Guzman slotted home the resultant penalty.

Swansea's final goal came in the 90+2 minute which saw De Guzman score his second of the night and meaning Swansea have now broken a record after winning by a total of five goals.
