Stoke Understood To Agree Deal For Butland

It is understood that Stoke have agreed a deal for Birmingham City keeper Jack Butland for a fee thought to be just under £5 million. The young prospect has already turned down a move to Chelsea this window as he felt he wouldn't get first team football, and it would seem that Stoke are now the club which he hopes can provide this opportunity.

The clubs current starting goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is still on the clubs books, but is thpught to be leaving the club in the summer, so it would seem that Stoke manager Tony Pulis is looking ahead to the future. This is backed even more by the fact that Butland is thought to be heading back to Birmingham on loan until the end of the season.
