It is thought that QPR manager Harry Redknapp took a trip to Porto on Wednesday to watch Porto's Portuguese defender Rolando ahead of a possible bid.
Despite Redknapp seeming very keen, no formal offer has been made.
QPR have been struggling this season at the bottom of the table, and with current defender Ryan Nelsen announcing that he will be moving to MLS side FC Toronto to take up a training job, the side must seek a strong replacement. Rolando is thought as the clubs main replacement target, and Redknapps trip to Portugal have only strengthened rumours.
The Londoners, who are currently five points below safety, have already dipped into the transfer market this January having already brought players such as Loic Remy from Rennes and free agent Tel Ben Halm to the club. As for the defender, he can already boast three Portuguese titles, the UEFA Europa League, Portuguese Cup and UEFA Super Cup and Redknapp will be hoping to add some more Cups to the list.
