Marseille president Vincent Labrune has confirmed that a deal has been agreed with Newcastle over striker Loic Remy.
Remy has been a target for several Premier League clubs, with QPR already having a bid rejected for him. It would now seem that the 26 year-old is on his way to Newcastle for a sum in the region of £8.3 million.
"We have an agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of Remy," Labrune is quoted by RMC. "Loic can negotiate with them". It is thought that Remy was allowed to leave the hotel which the team where the staying in ahead of Sunday evenings Ligue 1 game against Sochaux. Earlier, former Necastle midfielder and Marseille team-mate Joey Barton has already publicly wished the forward good luck in Engalnd.
