Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola will take over at Bayern Munich at the end of the season, the Bundesliga club have confirmed.
The Spaniard has been linked with most of the top European clubs since leaving Barcelona at the end of last season. However Bayern Munich has beaten off competition such as Chelsea and Manchester United and confirmed the managers signature on a three-year deal. The current boss Jupp Heynckes, 67, informed the club of his intentions of retiring at the end of the season, at they have moved quickly to grab Guardiola who is currently living in New York as he takes a break from football.
Guardiola, who's four years at Barcelona saw the club win 14 trophies including three La Liga titles and two Champions League victories, will be replacing a manager who came a penalty shoot-out away from a Champions League victory last year against Chelsea.
