The original Hillsborough inquest verdicts were quashed in the High Court on Wednesday, with a new investigation which is to be lead by Jon Stoddart.
This follows an application from the Attorney General Dominic Grieve, the Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge and two other judges ordered fresh inquests, which quashes the original death verdicts after the death of 96 Liverpool supporters 23 years ago. A new investigation is to be led by by the former Chief Constable Stoddart, who will work closely with the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) into police conduct in the aftermath of the disaster.
