Ferguson Ashamed Of United's Offensive anti-Liverpool Chants

Manchester United have condemned anti-Liverpool chanting which took place during the sides 4-0 victory over Wigan.

A minority of Devil fans chanted offensive songs towards the Anfield side regarding the 1989 Hillsborough disaster which saw 96 supporters killed. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has pleaded both sides to "draw a line in the sand" referring to the heated rivalry between the two clubs which has also seen some Liverpool fans mock the 1958 Munich air crash in which 8 United players were killed.

A United spokesman has said that the club "deplore" these chants, and released a statement saying " The manager has made the clubs opinion very clear on this matter, it is up to the fans to respect that".
